Yoga for women 50+

Silverline Yoga for women 50 + keeps the body strong, slim and supple - increases self-healing ability - increases energy and reduces stress. Silverline yoga uses both traditional as well as more "modern" yoga exercises and techniques from Qi Gong and Chinese medicine.

Chinese medicine has been known and practiced for over 5000 years and is still going strong. It is increasingly more popular in the Western countries especially acupuncture. However, Chinese medicine is much more than acupuncture. Its wisdom about our body and its functions, and the interconnection between emotions and inner organs is quite unique.

We also practice meditation/mindfulness to preserve calm and inner strength. Silverline yoga is also helpful for the hormone system lessening the menopausal problems.

You do not  have to be athletic to do Silverline Yoga. However, you have to be motivated and have time and opportunity to practice.

If you have a problem with dizziness, after surgery, rheumatism etc. and therefore problematic to exercise  on the floor, Chair-yoga may be a very good alternative temporarily og permanent solution.

Silverline yoga emphasizes exercises that are rejuvenating, especially "upside down" positions. However, we don't use headstand because i may put too much strain on the neck.

Silverline Yoga is a new and different form of exercise which increases your vitality.

Senior yoga

Yoga has no age limit, however, our body changes, and what was easy to do when 20, is just not that simple when your are 60. That is why Silverline Senior is a bit different focusing more on maintaining our bodies in our "golden" days.

Silverline Yoga is designed for mature women 65+ focusing on health. We use traditional yoga and Chinese Yoga for strengthening our inner organs and our hormone system. In addition we use techniques from Qi Gong.

Other benefits from yoga:

  • Makes the body more flexible

  • Joints and columna more subtle

  • The muscle system becomes stronger

  • Better flexibility of the joints

  • Blood- and lymph system is stimulated

You don't have to be athletic to do Silverline Yoga, but you must be able to exercise on the floor with ease. If this is a problem we also teach Chair Yoga

Chair yoga

If due to dizziness, after surgery, rheumatism etc, Chair Yoga can be a very good alternative to ordinary yoga temporarily or permanent. It is also good for elderly people or for those not used to physical training. It gives the same health benefits as ordinary yoga.

Chair yoga is taught individually or in small groups. We take into account age, former training, mobility etc. The exercises should be done at least twice a week for optimum effect..

This form of Chair yoga is created by Edeltraud Rohnfeld. She was again inspired by Erika Hammerstrøm's Chair yoga founded in the 1980's.
